The First Few Days
Wednesday, 07 July, 2004 by Cheryl W. Colan
For those of you friends and family wondering if we made it, after thirty hours of travelling we are finally here on the Korrawinga Community lands in Queensland, Australia. The air is damp and carries a sea freshness. The days are warm and wonderful. The nights are crisp and cold. We're learning new constellations and meeting wonderful people.
Among other activities, we've toured around the Hervey Bay area and tromped through the bush with Aboriginal elders. We've also joined in a friendship dance with Aborigines and Native Americans. I can't stay on this computer long because there are several others of my group waiting to check their e-mail. I will try for a longer post tomorrow, but for now, know that we are okay and having fun. I'm going to try to upload some photos in the gallery now, so you might want to check for pictures. The stories behind them will arrive as soon as I can send them.
