Presentation of Digital Stories

The digital stories were the highlight of this day; they were presented in the morning to the staff and students of WITT University, the Maoris, our friends at the Hostel and anyone else who wanted to watch. Brian also presented his slide show to our guests. The press attended the affair and took a group picture, which ran with a story about our trip in the local newspaper, The Daily News, the next day. We are celebrities (of sorts)!

In the evening, we attended yet another feast in the WITT University cafeteria with the Maori Elders, Donna and Glen, our many, new Maori friends, University faculty, etc. It was another wonderful celebration!

I cannot say enough about the staff at the University's cafeteria staff. We ate there daily or took food with us when we went to other locations; and several times, the staff fixed our evening meal and sent it to the Hostel, even though the cafeteria closed in the late afternoon! These ladies are not only great cooks, they are fantastic people - friendly, genuine, funny, unflappable and absolutely wonderful people. They made us feel so very welcome!
